UBEC DRC Research Committee Meets on Standardizing Scoring Rubrics

The Universal Basic Education Commission held a five-day DRC Research Committee meeting organized to evaluate and enhance the scoring rubrics’ effectiveness in educational assessments at the Digital Resource Center, Kado-Kuchi, Abuja.

This initiative aimed to refine the scoring framework to ensure it aligns with the educational standards set by UBEC Smart Education and promotes fairness, accuracy, and transparency in the evaluation process.

Through a series of collaborative sessions, the committee analyzed the existing rubrics, identified key areas for improvement, and developed evidence-based recommendations.

Key outcomes included refining the rubric and identifying areas for improvement, such as providing clearer guidelines for scoring ethical considerations and budget allocation.

The workshop highlighted the need for additional training to reduce biases and ensure uniformity in future evaluations. The committee recommended a pilot testing phase for the revised rubric to assess its effectiveness before full-scale implementation.
