The overall goal of UBECâs Digital Resource Centre is to provide quality digital educational content for schools across the country as well as contemporary capacity building to relevant actors in the Nigerian education sector that will lead to the delivery of high quality basic education services in Nigeria. The Centre has a particular focus on providing digital content and e-Resources for the UBEC model smart schools and e-learning centres across the Federation as well as basic education schools in general.
To be a globally rated digital educational resource centre contributing significantly to raising and sustaining qualitative and functional universal basic education (UBE) delivery in Nigeria.
To provide, at all times, quality educational content, contemporary capacity building and research opportunities that lead to the delivery of high quality basic education services in Nigeria.
Professor Bashir Shehu Galadanci is a computer engineer who has broad experience in ICT in general and more specifically in software engineering, telecommunications and computer science in particular. He acquired his B.Sc. in Electrical/Computer Engineering with first class honours from King AbdulAziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in 1984. He thereafter obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Boston University, Boston, MA, USA in 1987 and 1994 respectively.Â
He is a professor in the Department of Software Engineering at Bayero University, Kano (BUK). He has held many administrative positions in the university including Dean, Faculty of Computer Sciences & IT and Head of Department, Department of Software Engineering. He is a member of the BUK Senate and has served in the BUK Council.
He has participated in several workshops and conferences in Nigeria, Italy, Ghana, Malaysia, Kenya, Egypt, Singapore, China, Namibia, Liberia, Gambia, Uganda, South Korea and the U.S.A. He has many publications including two books. He is currently the National Coordinator of the Digital Resource Center of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).
